Coming to Point

What is the point of too much? Too much pressure, too much stimuli, too many questions? I keep thinking about the point the horse comes to where they explode, that is the point of too much.
I’m also thinking about instructing - my own progress in that area. I can pull apart the information, and point it out. But sometimes, I feel like when you are thrown in the middle of a mess, where does one begin. At the beginning I suppose. You stop, turn around and go back to the start line, you give the essentials, instead of feeling badly because you want to start in the middle. I need to realize that with riders, what is in their best interest is a strong beginning, and the same with the horses. When you jump in the middle it is easy to find the point of too much. In the beginning it is easy as well, but understood.
