Basic Beginnings

As I ponder the means I’ve gone through in my riding to get to where I am, I also reflect upon how I’ve grown as a person. Today marking a point that I’ve stood up and said that I am worth more. I am worth more than just an employee, I am worth more than a scapegoat. I am worth more than to let someone take their fears, angers, stresses and anxieties out on me. I want to relate this to riding because it has a direct link. Aren’t my horses worth more than a moment of frustration turned onto them? Aren’t my horses worth more than being used as scapegoats for my failures? Aren’t my horses worth more than the sum of all my fears? Yes, they are. A moment indeed in my awareness today, that I am truly proud of.

“We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly.” Aristotle
