Hi! I am Cheryl Frei, and I work with Equestrians here at Awareness In Riding as a Life Coach. I have had horses most of my life. As a child I was fortunate enough to have two in my backyard who allowed me to jump on and hang on as they ran through the woods, scaring the living daylights out of me! It was a time when we had no halters, saddles or bridles... but even if we did we wouldn't have known how to use them. I considered myself a great rider, for the simple fact that no matter what my horse did I managed to keep myself aboard and stuck to their back like glue! In my later teens I was introduced to riding in saddles and using reins to help steer and control the horse. As my learning continued I found various disciplines such as Western, English, Dressage, Natural Horsemanship, etc... and yet the more techniques I discovered and tools were at my disposal, the more I felt insecure, unsafe and out of control with my horse. I remember one day removing my stirrups when riding and all of a sudden my horse began to pick up his feet and instead of 'thump, thump, thump' (my legs against his sides), he swayed and rolled forward with ease. I had built the belief that stirrups (and all of the other sorts of equipment I was now using) was necessary, but by removing those stirrups that one day I began to see that the complex systems and methods I had been learning and practicing may have been the very things getting in the way of me communicating correctly with my horse! As an equestrian you may have already seen situations where the same old approaches to resolving issues could actually be a contributing factor in the problems you are attempting to overcome! And that struggling through the frustrations is no longer working for you. This is where my job as a Life Coach comes into play and exactly why I am so excited to do the work that I do! Life Coaching techniques approach 'problems' from a completely different angle to resolve riding and training issues, and equestrians are finding time and again success that elevates them to an entirely new realm of working with their horse. This upgrade in thinking creates a new game, so to speak, for equestrians to renew and rejuvenate their love and passion and why they got into working with horses in the first place! I have been Coaching for six years now, and I am excited each and every day as I work with equestrians just like you who allow me to journey with them through the breakthroughs from frustration to absolute and pure freedom to accomplish anything their heart desires! That is what gets me out of bed in the morning and keeps me running through the whole day laughing, giggling and full of joy. So... I have a question for you. Are you ready to join me and upgrade your possibilities with your goals and dreams? What's keeping you from reaching out and taking what you really want? |
